Gold prices in Pakistan witnessed a significant decline on Monday, reflecting a downward trend in the international market, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association.

The price of gold per tola dropped by Rs3,000, bringing it down to Rs488,462. Similarly, the rate for 10 grams of gold fell by Rs2,572 to settle at Rs418,777, indicating a notable easing in local bullion prices.

Market analysts attributed the decline to fluctuations in global gold rates, which continue to influence domestic pricing trends. In the international market, gold prices per ounce decreased by $30, reaching $4,657. The dip reflects cautious investor sentiment amid evolving global economic conditions and geopolitical developments.

Gold rises but heads for steep monthly loss

Despite the drop in gold prices, silver rates remained stable in the local market. The price of silver per tola held steady at Rs7,744, showing no change during the trading session.

Experts say the recent correction in gold prices may offer some relief to buyers, particularly ahead of the wedding season when demand typically rises. However, they caution that volatility in international markets, driven by interest rate expectations and geopolitical tensions, could continue to impact prices in the coming days.

Gold is often considered a safe-haven asset during periods of uncertainty, and its prices tend to fluctuate based on global economic indicators, currency movements and investor confidence.

Traders are closely monitoring upcoming international economic data and central bank signals, which could further influence bullion markets worldwide.

Overall, the latest decline highlights the sensitivity of Pakistan’s gold market to global price movements, with local rates closely tracking international trends.
